2025–2026 Knights of Meaford Team Awards

As the season comes to a close, we are proud to recognize the players and staff who made a lasting impact on the 2025–2026 season. Each of these individuals demonstrated commitment, leadership, and pride in representing the Knights of Meaford organization.


Ashley Clock Award – Mitch Berens (#14)
Sponsored by Cathi Parrish Royal Lepage Locations North

Awarded to the player who shows the most heart, the Ashley Clock Award represents dedication, character, and commitment to the team. Mitch embodied these qualities every day. His fearless style of play and willingness to compete earned him the respect of his teammates and coaches, and ultimately an Assistant Captain role. Mitch also represented the Knights at the All-Star Game, further highlighting his importance to the team. His leadership and compete level set the standard all season long.


Regular Season MVP – Matus Trokan (#98)

Matus was the driving force behind our offense this season and a deserving recipient of the Regular Season MVP award. His consistent production and ability to perform in key moments made him one of the league’s most dangerous players. A league All-Star, Matus played a major role in the Knights’ success and was relied upon in every situation.


Most Valuable Team Member – Christoph Kirchmayer (Head Coach)
Sponsored by Knights' Home Building Centre

Christoph stepped into the role of Head Coach and fully embraced the responsibility. His dedication both on and off the ice helped shape the culture of this team. Through countless hours of preparation, development, and leadership, Christoph proved invaluable to the organization and to the players who developed under his guidance.


Playoff MVP – Shane Brannick (#30)
Sponsored by the Chollet Family

In a short but competitive playoff run, Shane delivered outstanding performances in net. Time and time again he gave the team a chance to win, turning aside quality scoring chances and standing tall under pressure. His play in the postseason earned him the Playoff MVP honors.


Players’ Choice Award – Giordano Schwar (#97)

Voted on by his teammates, the Players’ Choice Award represents the ultimate respect within the locker room. Gio brought consistency, effort, and leadership every day and did everything that was asked of him. His teammates recognized his commitment and impact by selecting him as this year’s Players’ Choice winner.


MacKay Family Award – Giordano Schwar (#97)

Presented in memory of John MacKay, this award honours dedication to the Knights of Meaford organization. Gio exemplified what this award stands for — always prepared, always on time, and always committed. His professionalism and work ethic made him a true example of what it means to be a Knight.


Rookie of the Year – Luukas Keranen (#10)
Sponsored by TC Energy

Luukas made an immediate impact in his first junior season. From November onward, he became a key contributor alongside linemates Rylie Carter and Xavier Leblanc, helping drive offensive production. A versatile player, Luukas contributed in every situation including the power play and penalty kill, making him a deserving Rookie of the Year.


Most Improved – Rylie Carter (#91)

Rylie showed tremendous growth throughout the season, taking major strides both as a player and as a person. His determination to improve and his commitment to development made him a clear choice for Most Improved.


Most Improved – Xavier Leblanc (#15)

Xavier made significant progress over the course of the season, elevating his overall game and becoming a more reliable and confident player. His hard work and persistence were evident every time he stepped on the ice.
